Scot Lahaie – Playwright

About Scot Lahaie

Playwright  ·  Pastor  ·  Author  ·  Professor

Scot Lahaie has spent his career at the intersection of story, faith, and the stage. He writes plays that ask hard questions, novels that explore the invisible world, and theology that invites believers into deeper communion with God. His work doesn’t fit neatly into one category — and he has stopped trying to make it.

Scot Lahaie is the author of more than a dozen full-length plays, including the award-winning Dogfall, Purging Mary, Gloria Dei, LEAR ReLoaded, Big Brother 2024, and Mary, Mother of God. His newest play, ZURICH, arrives June 1, 2026.

His plays have been produced across the United States, published in Southern Theatre Magazine, and recognized by the Southeastern Theatre Conference, the North Carolina Theatre Conference, and the Greensboro Playwrights’ Forum, among others. He has directed more than eighty stage productions and taught playwriting, directing, and dramatic literature at Regent University, Baylor University, Gardner-Webb University, and the University of Mount Union. He currently coordinates the online graduate theatre program at Regent University.

In 2025, Scot and his wife Ute founded The Furnace Christian Fellowship, a contemplative-charismatic house church in North Canton, Ohio. His ministry centers on what he calls “Inner Room” spirituality — recovering the indwelling presence of God as the foundation of Christian discipleship.

His forthcoming theological works include Return to the Inner Temple, The Architecture of Invisible Realms, and Living in the Presence, as well as the four-volume Paradigm Shift series. He maintains two Substack publications — The Ember Blog and The Arrow Song Blog — and hosts two podcasts exploring contemplative prayer and the architecture of the spiritual world.

His first novel, The 500, is an intellectual thriller set in China — a social-justice story about corporate espionage, mass protest, and one man’s refusal to accept injustice as the price of doing business.

He is also the author of The Realms of Light Saga, an epic seven-novel fantasy series spanning six millennia — from the pre-Adamic rebellion to the year 2054 — weaving biblical typology, prophetic imagination, and high fantasy adventure into a single mythic arc. The series is currently seeking a publisher.
